Rundown of commissions...

[001] I was wondering if anyone could tell me what is the deal with plurk and twitter. No, seriously. These are two things that just don't seem to click with me (along with myspace/facebook etc.) and I really don't get what the attraction is.

[002] As with certain book comms that tend to have loads of romance books posted, certain video comms have insane amount of horror movies. Both romance novels and horror movies are things I've grown out of and tend to run away from so ;_; I wish there were a way to hide those from view >_>

[003] Past commissions:
  • Draco by ilostmyname (2005)- should have gotten it colored but first commish and couldn't spare the $$ at the time.
  • Draco by kidinair (2006)- loved the sketches, and while I love her coloring, there was something off with the way the painting translated the sketch. However, it was requested during the summer and I kinda forgot about it what with RL... so by the time I stumbled onto it, was too late to ask for any changes *headdesk*
  • Harry & Draco by buttfacemakani (2007)- my dream piece, didn't care how long I had to wait ♥ This was the piece that made me understand how truly AWESOME commissions are. I got exactly what I wanted and it was totally worth it.
  • James/Scorpius by draykonis (2008)- my next gen HP OTP and probably the first fanart of the two together perhaps >_> DRAY IS A SUPER FAST GODDESS
[004] In Progress Commissions (2008)
  • Toph by rei-i - always wanted grown up!Toph and she captured it beautifully *_* Still got a few changes I want but it's total love.
  • Toph & Zuko by ninjatic - only sketches done so far but cannot wait for the finished product :)
  • Harry/Draco by lillym0n - only a rough initial sketch so far...*sits on hands*

Have asked one or two peeps about commissions but the sad thing is most peeps don't have the time or have prices that go well into the triple digits ;_;

Have learnt to always ask/make suggestions if I want something changed in commissions 'cause the worst that can happen is the artist says no/they can't do it. That way I can be all *_* at the final product and never stop and wonder about the what-ifs :)

[005] myrafur posted Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet, condensed with gchat images

[006] We also have wee!naruto and chibi!Harry and Draco and a halloween NWS H/D piece that includes a giant pumpkin.

*guilty* I use Plurk but I usually fill with nonsense or a fangirling here and there. >_>; I blame my brother for getting me to like it. I don't use Twitter, though. Essentially, they're both the same thing, except Plurk's a lot more colourful and has emoticons (which I hardly ever use).

LOL..oh wait, how is that different from lj 'cause I think that's what I do here anyway XD

They feel like site where peeps update with tiny status updates or oneliners but not paragraph long posts or anything... or maybe I've not seen enough of it. It seems to be perfect for mobiles and quickie!updates...

(love your icon XD)
*laughs* I do it on LJ but more excessively. I tone it down on Plurk so I don't freak those 'normal' people out.

I don't do quick!mobile updates which is why you'll won't see those type of posts at my LJ. I prefer to write out really, really long posts via keyboard than using my thumbs on my mobile. >:D

(Thanks. It was a request by heygraphics because failed at colouring it but she did great with it.)
Ah yes, Plurk is probably more RL friendly in that sense XD

Me too! I like to ramble so twitter/plurk et all feels a bit confining at times >_>

(OOOOH!) *runs off to check heygrahics*
Her requests are over but hopefully, she'll open up a new request again. I love the colouring of her icons.

lol. It's like rambling one line with only 100 words maximum and then continuing with another line and another.

*butts in*
IDK if Plurk lets you lock your updates, but I like Twitter because I can lock my posts for my Twitter f-list. Also, I use Twitter on my mobile on the days when I don't bring Alto to uni with me. *addict*

Twitter takes a lot of my daily spam, so I'm less inclined to update up to 6 times a day on LJ (I've done it... once, I think. OTL)
Re: *butts in*
But I like your spam. Mmm, Lumi-spam. *cuddles*

Plurk does allow for Private settings so that only friends and friends of friends can see your updates. I still haven't configure my mobile to use to update on those. Too lazy.
I am so, so happy to say that I have no idea what Plurk is. Ignorance is bliss sometimes. :D

God, you have good luck with commissions! Or maybe you're just very good at expressing what you want. I'm getting my first one done right now and I just do not know how to give an opinion on it. It's just at the sketch stage, so it's impossible to know how it will turn out. Part of me wants to trust the artist (she's great) and let her finish, but I don't want to get a nearly-finished product and find out I don't like it as much as I'd expected to. *sigh*
I just discovered plurk this past week via the flist and DeviantART XD

Lol, if you remember this post and this image, I've learnt to be nit picky.

The initial sketch stge is the best time IMO to point out perspective/expression/clothing/position preferences (they don't have to *change* anything, you're just stated what you prefer) because when it gets colored, making any changes would require the artist to change everything - at the sketching period, it's easier to mae edits since coloring hasn't started yet :)

Thing is, I usually approach artists with a concept/storyline idea and some photo examples of people in that particular position. That way I can later compare the sketches to the image in my head and those sent and have something I can point to when I say for instance, I want Toph and Zuko in a reverse V position/stance (which makes no sense unless I provide examples)
You could search by genre, I guess (if the book/game comms have it). Though that would take much more effort!

...I didn't realise the 2007 H/D commission was made by you! I remember loving it muchly when it came out :D

I wonder if I could rely on that version of R&J during an essay ;)
