barukins posted her drawing process with Paint Tool SAI. This made me do some hunting and discovered that coffeekins posted a gorgeous inking process vid of her own (+ another one)
There's also a coloring vid by ru3na whose pieces on DA (here and here) have me all *A*
meganbmoore's post helped me understand why Batman - as a character - tends to leave me cold - its his MANPAIN. I like man pain in characters (so much so that Superman leaves me bored usually) but when we get to Man Pain I'm not at all keen on the character or the direction the narrative tends to take. Which is a shame becuase other characters in those 'verses (the villains and proteges and sidekicks) are still superfun - its just the protags that make me feel blah.
A trip down memory lane had me reading an old fic of anjenue's this morning which had me visiting her journal. Reading the eulogy posted by her sister and the birthday wishes from her family made me tear up but it was the first anniversary post and the photos of her growing up that had me crying.
I only knew her through her stories and fandom participation but her family's posts over the years on her lj made it all so much personal. Anjali would have been 28 years old on the 19th of this month - the same age as my sister. In her first sticky post she identified herself as many things, but the posts from her loved ones make it so apparent that above all, she was a daughter, sister and friend.
