HP - H/D - back to back

Recs! Of the HP variety!

Its been a few years since I went on a Harry/Draco binge but between catching up with hd_holidays, the other fests and fandom faves, am totally a happy shipper XD For the first time though, instead of reading on the laptop, I've been transferring fics to epub format for reading on my Nook Touch - especially since most reads are at least 25k words long.

It helps that certain archives allow you to download multi-chapter fics in one go: Archive of Our Own has the option to load the "entire work" and Hex files has a printable story format. There's also a story export script for ff.net. The only sites that don't make it any easier are skyehawke and LJ :( Still, am glad most fests now host fics on external sites and on a single page.

Working with Chrome, Notepad ++ and Calibre, its easy to convert the fics to epub files with manageable sizes :D And I find I scroll less and read more when I'm on the Nook too XD

Anyway, I've compiled a list of recs under the cut and also updated my old Starter Kit with titles from recent years.

Oh and a general shoutout: ADD ME ON GOODREADS - am always looking out for titles to read so the more friends there the better :D

Oh Someone mentions squeebook.net for compiling LJ fics. You still need to have all the links so if the author have a Master/Index Post that will help. Firefox have a "Copy All Links" extension that works with it

The other FFDownloader I am using is Raimond Eisele ones. Previously the old version did support Skyhawke but I think the all the changes borked it already. Hopefully he will add it the new version soon. In the mean time, it does support other sites too ^^

LOL yeah I really adore fic sites with printable story option way back before all the ereader become popular. HPFandom.net is another one that have that option

Diclaimer. Whatever I have is for my own reading and I would not upload fics for other sites or to claim as my own :P
Oh squeebook sounds perfect *_* I wonder if it works with skyehawke? Thanks for the heads up!
haha, yes, I'm a fan of blamebrampton and read Little Red Courgette just before the weekend - it was an instant fave XD
Hi! Great list!

I've added you on goodreads (I'm Dana there).
Years ago, the first rec list I found was your HD=OTP Experince list, and it was a treasure chest that kept me busy and gave me a great start. For the past couple of months, with work being crazy, I've haven't read HD beyond some hd_holidays and works by lettered and sara_girl, so searched for a recently updated list today, and there was this page at the top of Google. Nostalgia and exitement all at once! Thanks so much for your recs over the years and your guides and list-of-rec-lists.
Also, you can download entire stories form skyehawke by entering the address of the index page & your format at the top left of flagfic.com
You probably have discovered this by now, but just in case - you CAN download entire epubs from skyehawke (and other classic HP sites) using the FanfictionDownloader program! His desktop version doesn't allow this, but you can do it using his Calibre plug-in version.

I just spent a few hours copying stories from Ashwinder and Skyhawke into Squeebooks before figuring that out because I'm a moron. I swear it didn't work when I tried it before but maybe a bug was fixed. :D

{Reposting just in case. I think my link to supported sites may have marked me as spam.]
