anime - amatsuki - smile - summer

Normally I don't bother, but with all the recent HP!hysteria and the LJ! wank, I'd just like to remind y'all about something.

This is fandom. Fandom survives. No matter how many bureaucratic idiots try to stomp on us, no matter how much cannon joshes our fanon loves - we still pick ourselves up, find alternative hangouts and brilliant fanworks that far outshine canon in many, wonderful ways.

So calm down. E-mail your frustration to those in charge; save the rants for drumming up support to long term solutions and/or fandom!pr0n.

Whether LJ kicks us out or Harry kicks the bucket - does it really matter? It doesn't change what fandom is all about - sharing the pr0ny and indenial love.

...I'm not so sure. LJ is where EVERYONE goes. So, everyone knows where to meet. If it breaks down...we spread out, and become much harder to find. Archives, blogs, great fandom, or's too hard to find everyone.

Also, lj has easy commenting- you don't have to belong, you can just comment.

So .... I'm just not so sure. I'll probably drop out of fandom if fandom migrates to a different interface. It takes too long to find people, if they're spread out over the net. UNLESS all fandoms mostly migrate to one place, which no one has really talked about, and now people are making preliminary moves to just about every place on the net, no two of which are alike. And all my bookmarks will become obsolete if lj kicks us off. Too frustrating.
